HASCO's range of flat steel

Major extension to HASCO's range of flat steel

HASCO has significantly extended its flat steel range. The P5600 grade has been integrated into the higher-precision F range. Customers now have a choice of well over 3,000 available sizes. All dimensions are grouped together under one order number, enabling the required ready-to-use sizes to be found easily and quickly.

Hasco's range of flat steel products has also been extended by many new materials. Two examples are the highly polishable case hardening steel 1.2162 and the through-hardening cold work steel 1.2363, which is additionally noted for its extremely high wear resistance.

The pre-hardened and tempered chromium stainless steel 1.2099 is now also available as precision flat steel. This material has excellent machining properties, very good dimensional stability and outstanding corrosion resistance.

All the dimensions and tolerances are oriented to practical applications and conform to DIN 59350. Special mention should be made of the customer-friendly service of the online ordering system at a fixed price. This is a major advantage because Hasco does not additionally charge the alloy surcharges as other suppliers do.

HASCO safety coupling Z80700/... - the new safety standard

For plastics-processing companies, safe and reliable production is absolutely essential. HASCO continues to meet its customers' expectations in this respect with a safety version of its high-quality shut-off couplings.

The safety release is operated by a bayonet-type mount to prevent unintentional decoupling of the cooling system. Another advantage is that the sophisticated couplings have unrestricted compatibility with the classic HASCO cooling system.

Additional to the safety aspect, this new coupling is also ideal for clean room applications, because leakages can be avoided. Z80700/... complies with the very highest requirements.

The new coupling is exclusively available as a straight design with a connecting thread in the nominal diameters of 9 and 13 mm and is suitable for use with oil, water and air.

HASCO offers double safety with a combination of the couplings with the ready-to-assemble hydraulically pressed PTFE hose system Z856/... This hose is available either in a smooth version for long distances between the cooling unit and the injection moulding tool, or as corrugated hose for short flexible connections. High pressures and temperatures are no longer a problem with this full package solution - safe is safe.

New date stamp - for tiny spaces

The labelling requirements of plastics parts make no exceptions for ultra-small products. HASCO, the manufacturer of standard mould units has now added mini date stamps to its portfolio under the product name Z48715/... With a 2.6 mm diameter, they can stamp product data with absolute precision even on ultra-small parts.

Also new is the Z48700/… series, offering the possibility of combining month, year or month and year separately. They are available in diameters of 5-12 mm.

These simple mini-labelling elements are fixed in the mould from the front by press fit and adhesive or, as Z48700/..., screwed from the back. The steplessly adjustable arrow insert can be changed with minimum effort and without dismantling the mould from the mould parting line.

Because it is made of stainless steel 1.4112, the new date stamp offers continuous, problem-free use, long life expectancy and outstanding value for money.

TOOLOX® – the new generation HASCO tool steel

HASCO is now offering for the first time the modern TOOLOX® - tool steel as an alternative to the conventional plastic mould steel materials 1.2311 and 1.2312. The advantages of the TOOLOX - steel grades 33 and 44 are particularly highly valued, not only in mould making, but also in the production of high quality tool and machine components.

Low residual stress processing with TOOLOX 33

TOOLOX 33 is a pre-hardened and tempered tool steel with exceptionally low residual stresses in ESR quality. As a result of its extraordinarily high toughness, with a 1080 N/mm² tensile strength, and its high dimensional stability, it is particularly well suited for injection moulding tools. TOOLOX 33 is available in the familiar HASCO standard dimensions as a P 1100 standard plate in a milled and plough ground finish. Special sizes can be supplied on request.

The new production philosophy – the pre-hardened TOOLOX 44

TOOLOX 44 is the only quality tool steel supplied ex stock worldwide that is pre-hardened to 45 HRC. Normal pre-machining and heat treatment processes are not required, thus reducing costs and the risk of scrap. TOOLOX 44 can also be supplied in special dimensions to meet customer requirements.

TOOLOX 33 and 44 – two tool steels with potent properties

Some of the fundamental positive properties are comparable for the two steels:

- costs reduced and time saved as a result of outstandingly good processing
  characteristics
- exceptionally low residual stresses and therefore nearly distortion-free machining
- high dimensional stability, even at high cutting rates
- as a result of high temperature tolerance (590°C) they can be gas-nitrided and
  PVD-coated
- homogeneous structure for excellent polishing and etching results
- outstanding heat conductivity values improve mould cycle times and tool life.

HASCO latch locking unit Z174/...




















Extension of the latch locking unit range of sizes Z 174 / ...

Latch locking units are frequently used in multi-stage plate sequencing, for example with 3 plate solutions in injection mould tools. Within the HASCO standards catalogue you will find the article number Z 174 /....

The Z174/... latch locking units for adaptive external mounting on the tool previously provided for smaller and medium-sized tools with 50, 80 and 100 mm strokes. Larger moulding sizes and the resulting heavier tools, however, demand not only longer strokes and larger opening delays but also the possibility of transmitting greater pulling forces.

The latch locking units from HASCO operate with proven reliability and have now been extended by a functionally and structurally identical version for higher loads, longer strokes and optionally longer delays. The Z174 offers longevity in relation to wear and maintenance even when used for fast cycling tools with high deformation forces. The new Z 174 /... latch locking units complete the program at the top end of the range, being suitable for larger moulds and are available from stock. Conclusion: Long tool life with a very consistent productivity.

The flexible sealing element A4200/… newly presented by HASCO offers new quality standards for over moulding of metal inserts.

What’s it all about?
With the mounting of the flexible sealing elements in the mould cavity plates, metal inserts can be over moulded without burr and damage.

What is the secret behind A4200/…?
This special material was developed in close cooperation between the Plastics Institute (KIMW) Lüdenscheid/Germany, a leading supplier of wear resistant plastics and various customers from the field of over moulding technology. The outcome of this project, which was running for a couple of years, is a totally new invention of a sealing element for preferred use in injection moulds for over moulding operations flash-and damage-free. A long service life is ensured.

There is no comparable material on the market which can match the advantages of the sealing element A4200/… (MurSeal?-Technology).

A4200/… is proven in practice!
Up till now the use of A4200/… has been proven successfully in the moulding of reinforced and unreinforced plastics. The machining of flexible sealing elements A4200/… presents no problem, it is comparable to the machining process of metal inserts.

A4200/… “keeps sealed”
Metal inserts are over moulded reliably without damage and burr. The number of rejects is drastically reduced. Particularly useful for sheet metal thicknesses from about 4 mm upwards.

A4200/… helps you to save money!
By cutting out costs of reworking and reducing the number of rejects, experience has shown that costs per piece can be reduced considerably.
