HASCO Vintage Car Rally 2018 – in and around Lüdenscheid
Since it was founded in 1924, HASCO has stood for tradition, innovation and enthusiasm for engineering. And it was against this background that the second HASCO Vintage Car Rally was staged last Weekend.
Heinz Becker and Volker Wittmer, the organisers of the event, explained that "at some point in time we realised that we shared our enthusiasm for vintage cars with a number of our customers and colleagues. The fascination of technology, coupled with the fun of driving older cars prompted us to stage the HASCO Vintage Car Rally, which had already attracted a great deal of interest last year."
The starting point for this year's rally was the HASCO works site. Early on the Saturday morning the "old and even older treasures" arrived one after another. A delightful spectacle. With coffee specialities from the Coffee Bike and delicious muffins in their hands, participants first eyed up the vintage cars. Afterwards, the HASCO team took the guests on a guided tour of the factory, providing insight into the company's ultramodern standard-component production and its impressive high-bay warehouse.
The cars' engines were then started and, from Lüdenscheid, the route went via Großendrescheid, Rosmart, Werdohl and Brüninghausen to a pit stop at the Versetal dam. Next, the trip continued alongside the water heading for the Fürwigge Reservoir.
The final destination of the HASCO Vintage Car Rally was the Piepersloh Steakhaus in Lüdenscheid. Over lunch, participants had plenty of time and space to talk with each other and exchange information and opinions. The conversations focused not only on H registration plates, carburettors, injection pumps, obtaining spare parts and paint protection but also on professional topics relating to mould making.
Heinz Becker and Volker Wittmer from the HASCO sales team: "For us it is important to keep in touch with our customers". Simply to have time away from our day-to-day work to discuss technical and private issues. In that way, we find out what is needed and how we can support mould making even better with agility, innovativeness, simplicity and performance." All the participants were delighted with the trip and are looking forward to the 2019 HASCO Vintage Car Rally.
