For some years now, HASCO has been organising the Sauerland Run, taking bikers on Harley Davidsons on a tour through the attractive countryside surrounding the company's Lüdenscheid headquarters. The annual event has since taken on a cult status and enjoys growing popularity among HASCO customers and employees.
The enthusiasm surrounding the rally inspired Heinz Becker, a technical sales representative at HASCO, to organise a similar event for classic cars: the HASCO Vintage Car Rally. Four wheels instead of two. Beautiful-looking cars instead of cultish Harleys. The invitations were quickly sent out to customers and it was not long before plenty of positive feedback arrived.
Last Saturday, the event was staged on the HASCO works site. There, a number of gleaming treasures of the past stood next to one another in a row and made an impressive sight. Porsche 911 and 914, Mercedes SL, BMW 2002 and 320, Alfa Romeo Spider, Opel Manta and VW Beetle. After a brief tour of the production plant, the engines were started and the cars set out on their journey.
From Lüdenscheid, the drivers went via the B54 to Meinerzhagen and then in the direction of Attendorn. From here, they visited the Lister river dam and then travelled along the River Bigge to the Café Seesicht on the Sondern bridge. While enjoying the meal together with a view over Lake Bigge, the drivers had plenty to talk about. After all, here were people with the same profession and the same hobby sitting at the same table. In addition to the topics of mould and tool construction, the main focus was naturally the fascinating cars with their colourful histories.
For all the participants it was special day, and there is presently nothing to stand in the way of a repetition of the event next year. After all, an enthusiasm for engineering plays an important role for HASCO. Every day, this leading international supplier of modular standard mould units and accessories for mould construction is called on to produce sophisticated technical solutions with versatility, innovative force, simplicity and efficiency. For most HASCO customers and employees, this enthusiasm for technology does not simply stop during their free time.
