HASCO UK – 40 years of agility and performance
On 1 February 1977, HASCO ventured the leap across the English Channel and set up its UK subsidiary, HASCO-Internorm Ltd. As part of a consistent internationalisation strategy, the UK had been identified as a key market and moved into the focus of attention. In building up the subsidiary, the company set out to resolutely achieve customer proximity through an on-the-spot presence with the corresponding service, advisory and delivery capabilities.
From the English city of Daventry, HASCO-Internorm conquered the market for mould making and the plastics injection moulding industry throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. Customers were rapidly convinced by the high quality of HASCO's standard components and accessories. This, together with the good service provided by HASCO UK, ensured that the company was able to enter the market sustainably and benefit from continuous, extensive growth. HASCO was able to impress new and existing customers at a very early stage already through its agility, innovation, simplicity and performance. HASCO UK thus built on its success and provided key findings for the development of further international HASCO branches.
The new millennium also brought changes in the market and framework conditions for HASCO UK. The shrinking UK tooling segment, increasing competition in the wake of globalisation and the retirement of a number of key players in the sales team constituted central challenges for the HASCO UK team under General Manager Neil Moseley. In a change process geared towards the long term, the company reoriented itself, aligning the subsidiary to changed customer needs.
This process proved to be successful on all counts. Most recently, a new and more efficient delivery model was introduced. All HASCO UK deliveries are now made directly from the central warehouse in Lüdenscheid, Germany. That has major advantages for HASCO UK customers: they can now call up the more than 100,000 HASCO products at short notice at any time via the worldwide SAP network. This ensures both very rapid delivery and maximum product availability. Free standard delivery of products weighing up to 30 kg is assured the next day, for example.
One key milestone in the development of HASCO UK was the move to the company's new head office in October 2016. Operating from the impressive iCon Environmental Innovation Centre in Daventry, the experienced and highly dedicated UK team is focused on sales and technical support.
With the support of an optimised logistics process, the subsidiary is able to implement customer wishes both rapidly and competently. Top-level HASCO quality goes hand-in-hand with a comprehensive product portfolio and efficient service, including individual advice and specialist technical support.
