For the employees at HASCO's standard mould unit production facility in Lüdenscheid, Germany, the arrival of the new TOYODA FA 800 S machining centre was a special moment. To be able to react more flexibly to customer requirements and the growing order volume, HASCO has extended the production capacities of its modern machine fleet by adding a horizontal machining centre with a two-fold pallet changer specifically for the task of face milling plates.
When selecting the system, HASCO placed particular value on precision and performance. A key aspect apart from its convincing surface results was the stress minimisation, which reduces the risk of warpage for the customer. In this respect, the TOYODA FA 800 S produced very convincing results in the test runs.
The new machine is designed with a special box guideway movement for precision high-speed machining, and with a spindle drive of 45 KW, it achieves a maximum torque of 1,309 Nm. As far as the pallet size is concerned, HASCO opted for 800 x 800 mm, as this size fits in perfectly with the most frequently machined product range. With a maximum pallet load is 2,500 kg, the system's two-fold pallet changer helps to speed up the machining process and the overall workflow. For a rapid tool change, the TOYODA FA 800 S has a mould changer with a 40x chain magazine.
This investment at its Lüdenscheid headquarters will enable faster, more efficient and more flexible production. It represents a further step by the company in its mission to supply mouldmakers even faster and more reliably with low-stress quality steel, precision mould units and ready-to-assemble system components.
